The Horuset Preserver Branch - Revised

#1
Preserver Branch
[Image: Preserver_200.png]
Introduction
The duty of the Preservers is to be devout wardens of the Sith - to preserve the heritage, the history, the culture and ensure that the present and future generations reap and cherish the advancements of their predecessors. Functionally this responsibility manifests itself in the securement, recovery, maintenance, restoration, cataloguing and study of artifacts, archaelogical sites, buildings, tombs and cities; fragments and vestiges that define the Sith. To be the guardians of vaults and repositories of knowledge, and to lend their expertise in containment and research alike to the Powerbase at wide as necessary. A Preserver must be able to rekindle the smallest ember of the Old Ways into a furious and potent blaze of tradition. As such, passion for knowledge, analytic tendencies and devotion to the traditionalistic Sith praxis are a must for any disciple of the branch.

Comportment
It is of utmost importance that a Preserver is always keenly aware of the purpose of their service and duty: to the Dark Lord, her Powerbase, the Sith Order and the Empire. It is a position ill fit for those who seek to cater to their egocentric lusts. It is the responsibility of the Preserver to act in the wider interest of the Sith and to ensure it as a collective society and culture is exalted. As such, artifacts and objects of power that are seized and underneath the custodianship of the Preservers, remain so in consideration of their worth. Any attempts to subvert this and choose to aggrandize personal collections shall be sanctioned viciously and the offender removed from the branch, or otherwise barred from pursuing tenure within it.

It is the responsibility of the Preservers to remain ever vigilant and appraised of potential venues of interest to the Powerbase. As such, collaboration with archaelogists, Lorekeepers, scholars and thorough study of related reports, old and new, are paramount to the effectiveness and productivity of the branch. The past shall not unearth itself, and one would be a fool and unfit for the role if they do not exercise a constant pursuit of knowledge. Knowledge is power.
To unveil the rational and genuine from myth, scripture, legend and rumour is an essential part of routine.
Where knowledge and guidance on such interests is not yielded through study and research alone, which no Preserver should ever wholly rely on, one must take to expeditions and exploration to do so. Aerial and ground transports conducting search and scans will inevitably yield results.

To secure, contain and protect should come naturally. Where sites and objects hold value, they are to be rendered hospitable and fit for Imperial occupation. As such, eradication of threats, sentient and living beings or creations of the Force, apparitions and wards is as important as it is that the entity of interest is preserved. Where necessary, this shall manifest in a need to strengthen and reinforce foundations, or in the event that such a locale or object is utterly dangerous and uncontrollable - destroyed and eradicated. Should such an unfortunate outcome be necessary, as thorough and introspective report is to be prepared as to document and serve as a testament as to what was.

Ultimately, an efficient Preserver is to maintain a symbiotic relationship with their fellow Sith from adjacent branches. Coalition with Sorcerers, Alchemists and Lorekeepers in regards to arcane and ritual matters, ancient defenses and barriers. The Claviger with functions pertaining to containment, storage and securement.

Preservation
It is essential that the work of the Preservers proves to guard both knowledge and possession both, with the earlier accessible where appropriate. This concerns information that is fit for the public eye and not confidential. As such, the Preserver must ensure that their vaults are secure, maintained and reliable. Their records pristine and informative, so they may serve as guidance to Sith present and future: to aid them in better understanding and preserving tradition, as well as lending valuable knowledge that guarantees the prosperity of safety and order. To combat and recognize re-emergent threats if need be.

Access to the Preserver Branch's Records may be found here.

This document has been revised, and it seeks to further expand and build upon the work of Sith Vi'Kas. Produced with the approval of the Envoy of Arcana, Lord Vipion.

Ongoing Crisis
The Republic Marches amongst lit fires!

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

After the Republic liberated Pollus from Imperial influence, Anx Minor was devastated by I.T.E.C.’s nuclear mining and lingering Sith presence, while the Kesmere Ridge remained largely intact, enabling the Republic to steadily infiltrate and influence its powerful corporate systems. On Tertiary Kesmere—the largest hub—three megacorporations dominated: Oriyn Prospecting discovered resources, Kessdyne Resource Group extracted and profited from the capital Vethar’s Reach and its Ciivic Council, and Haeltor Maritime handled off-world transport. Beneath the façade of economic growth, however, The Republic secretly aimed to turn Tertiary Kesmere into a strategic launch point for operations in the Northern Territories. Contacted by Moff Vayen Korr, the Marshalling Prefect of the Northern Territories, the Pentarchy of House Horuset took on the job of delaying the Republic's actions. With preperations laid it culminated in a strike planetside lasting only two weeks to ignite anarchy. Acting covertly to sabotage Republic progress, they destabilized the region, leaving chaos in their wake as corporations collapsed under their own deception and local anti-corporate guilds rose up—unaware of the Empire’s hidden hand behind the unrest...

((OOC: Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state will determine how strong the Republic will be in given areas area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
