Overview

While other Domains wage war, administer resources, maintain doctrine or pursue intelligence, the Domain of Advancement ensures that every Imperial victory is supported by superior tools, superior knowledge and superior preparation through the coordination of laboratories, research initiatives and applied military development, refining existing technologies while also pursuing breakthroughs that may define the next generation of Imperial warfare.

Sith Lord of Advancement

The Sith Lord of Advancement and upholds nigh complete authority over the Domain. From determining research priorities to shaping the internal structure of the Domain and directing major initiatives, the Sith Lord ensures that the advancement of the Horuset Powerbase remains consistent and purposeful.

The Sith Lord of Advancement’s primary duties focus on ensuring that technological progress, research initiatives and developmental projects remain aligned with the strategic needs of the Powerbase. This includes directing the work of the Domain’s divisions, approving major research undertakings and ensuring that discoveries are properly translated into practical advantages for the Empire. Their authority over the Domain is total, and second only to the Dark Lord.

The position is currently held by Lord Atas.

Shatajir of Advancement

Serving under the Lord of the Sith of Advancement himself, the Shatajir acts as their second-in-command and is responsible for coordinating the Domain’s internal operations.

The Shatijir must possess the ability to oversee development projects and ensure that research, espionage and applied military initiatives remain aligned with the Sith Lord’s directives. They may act as their delegate when required, though the Lord of the Sith’s authority remains final should circumstances demand it.

The current Shatajir is Apprentice Agran.

Division of Military Applications

The Head of Military Applications oversees the development and refinement of technologies intended for practical battlefield use.[/align]

This role is responsible for overseeing military applications, designing new variations and updating older technologies for maximum efficiency in order to cater towards the needs of the Domain of War, for which they also act as a direct liaison, maintaining communication with military personnel and gathering constant updates to ensure research remains aligned with operational realities. Through this position, theoretical discoveries within the Domain of Advancement are translated into practical tools for Imperial forces.

The position of Head of Military Applications is currently held by Lord Atas, with the Division formerly operating from Bnar V and currently located in Sernpidal.

Division of Medical Enhancement

Technological superiority is not only acquired by high tier weapons alone but also by the preservation of those who wield them. The continued strength of the Empire depends on its ability to maintain, restore, and enhance its personnel beyond the limitations of the expected conventional care.

The Head of Medical Enhancement is tasked with overseeing the development, integration and delivery of advanced medical technologies and procedures across the Horuset Powerbase. This includes battlefield recovery systems, surgical innovation, cybernetic integration and performance-enhancing treatments designed to ensure that both Sith and Imperial personnel return to service faster, better, stronger. 

The position of Head of the Medical Enchancement is currently Sith Zasa, operating as an External Liason, with the Division currently located in Sernpidal.

Division of Strategic Espionage

Technological superiority cannot rely solely on internal discovery. The Empire’s enemies continuously pursue advancements of their own, many of which must be prevented from reaching operational maturity, or outright exploited.

The Head of Strategic Espionage, holding the honorary title of Sith Ncairemyr, is tasked with seizing or destroying research advancements from the Empire’s enemies as a means of strengthening the Empire’s own arsenal while simultaneously halting the progress of hostile powers. Through infiltration, acquisition and sabotage, the Espionage Division ensures that valuable technologies are secured for Imperial use or denied entirely to those who would oppose the Empire. While other Domains also employ espionage to influence politics, destabilize governments or manipulate the outcomes of conflicts, the Espionage efforts of the Domain of Advancement focus specifically on technological and scientific acquisition or denial.

The position of Head of Strategic Espionage is currently Apprentice Leiyr, operating as an External Liason.

Division of Auxiliary Systems

Technological improvements range far beyond battlefield and medical uses, but also target the essential infrastructure which tackles the Empire’s ability to function, expand and endure.

The Head of Auxiliary Systems oversees the research, development and distribution of technologies that sustain and optimize the Horuset Powerbase’s broader operational framework. This includes industrial systems, resource processing, logistics optimization, infrastructure development and adaptive technologies designed to improve efficiency across Imperial domains. 

The position of Head of Auxiliary Systems is currently Apprentice Agran, with the Division currently located in Sernpidal.

Overseer of Advancement

Acting both as a member of the Overseer cadre and as a representative of the Domain, the Overseer of Advancement ensures that the interests of the Domain are represented within the Overseer program.

The position exists to represent the interests of Advancement while upholding the standards and demands set by the Lord of the Sith. Through lessons, assignments and oversight of acolyte tasks, the Overseer introduces new Sith to the importance of technological progress, research and innovation within the Empire.

The position of Overseer of Advancement is currently Apprentice Agran.

Research & Development

The Domain of Advancement is responsible for guiding and sustaining structured research across the Horuset Powerbase. Its purpose is to ensure that innovation is not fragmented or inefficient, but instead directed toward meaningful application.

Research initiatives fall under its oversight to guarantee that new discoveries are evaluated, refined and integrated appropriately. This includes monitoring ongoing projects, coordinating between divisions when collaboration is required and ensuring that developments meet operational standards before implementation. Through organized development and continuous evaluation, Advancement ensures that technological progress remains steady, controlled, and beneficial to the broader Powerbase- without overlapping nor stagnation.

Healthcare

The Domain of Advancement maintains responsibility for ensuring appropriate medical and physiological support for Sith, apprentices and all associated Powerbase personnel. This duty includes oversight of medical research, treatment standards, recovery protocols and the improvement of restorative techniques where possible. Advancement ensures that healthcare services are sufficiently present to respond to injuries, experimental side effects, field-related trauma or other physical conditions that may arise through operational activity.

By maintaining effective medical capability, the Domain safeguards the strength and continuity of the Powerbase, ensuring that valuable assets remain operational and that recovery processes are efficient and reliable.

Horuset Bestiary

The Horuset Bestiary serves as the official registered containment and documentation system for all beasts held on Horuset Grounds. It functions as both a resource archive and a regulated biological management structure for House Horuset. The Domain of Advancement maintains oversight of biological classification and expansion efforts, ensuring the Bestiary remains organized, secure, and aligned with research objectives.

The Horuset Bestiary



The Horuset Bestiary is a structured containment and registry facility operating under the oversight of the Domain of Advancement which centralizes the intake, documentation, housing and regulated management of all beasts within House Horuset’s authority.

The facility follows layered security and classification principles, ensuring that every creature is properly assessed, recorded and contained according to its designated status and risk level. It supports controlled housing, quarantine protocols and long-term containment within a unified operational framework. Additional functions, including breeding oversight and developmental monitoring, ensure sustainability while maintaining strict control.

Situated within the Horusate Estate grounds, the Bestiary is positioned at a distance from the main estate hub, requiring shuttle transport. This separation enhances security while preserving direct administrative integration under Domain supervision.

Registration within the Bestiary is mandatory for all Sith who acquire or retain a beast within the powerbase. While sensitive holdings may be listed privately where appropriate, full transparency is required at the highest level, ensuring the Dark Lord maintains awareness of all biological assets under Horuset authority. This system prevents unauthorized expansion, reinforces accountability and maintains strategic oversight.

The Horuset Proving Grounds



Currently, the Horuset Proving Grounds are operational, but remain considerably below their intended capacity. The foundation is established, the principal sectors are in place and meaningful research and prototype development can already be conducted, but numerous laboratories remain vacant and several manufacturing halls await their assembly lines and machinery. Continued investment in personnel, equipment and resources will be required before the facility can operate at its full intended capacity.

The Horuset Proving Grounds are the principal base of operations of the Domain of Advancement. No longer belonging to a single Sith, the installation and everything contained within it are now considered property of the Domain itself, maintained for the advancement of House Horuset and its wider strategic interests.

The original Sernpidal Research Facility has not been demolished. Instead, it has been swallowed by the considerable expansion surrounding it, rebuilt and incorporated into the Central Research & Prototyping Core at the heart of the Proving Grounds. From this heavily reinforced centre, five radial sectors extend outward through the complex, connected by secured internal transit corridors, freight routes and utility channels. 

The result is a single integrated installation in which research, experimentation, fabrication and field preparation can all be conducted without requiring personnel or prototypes to leave the grounds.

Four of the five radial sectors are assigned to the principal operational Divisions of the Domain of Advancement:

The fifth sector is occupied by the Central Research & Prototyping Core, retaining much of the infrastructure of the original Sernpidal facility. The Core contains shared laboratories, specialist scientific equipment, prototype workshops and project chambers intended for undertakings involving several Divisions simultaneously, whilst also housing much of the Domain's scientific administration, archives and secure project repositories, making the Core the central point through which major Advancement initiatives are coordinated. Research originating within individual Divisions can therefore be transferred directly into shared development programmes, allowing concepts to be tested, refined and transformed into working prototypes within the same installation.

Connected to the principal research sectors are extensive assembly halls and manufacturing lines, allowing experimental designs to progress directly from laboratory development into prototype construction and limited production. Refinery modules, material stores, power-generation systems and substantial battery reserves provide the Proving Grounds with a considerable degree of operational independence, while dedicated internal logistics routes allow refined materials, components and completed prototypes to move efficiently between the various sectors.

The complex also incorporates sub-surface hangars and deployment stations, accommodating shuttles, cargo craft, experimental vehicles and other specialised equipment. Dedicated internal transport routes allow personnel, materials and prototypes to move between storage, research and production areas while limiting unnecessary access to sensitive portions of the installation.

Beyond the central pentagonal structure, the outer compound contains the Proving Grounds' barracks, staff accommodation, warehouses, workshops, maintenance facilities and transport yards. These support areas are separated from the principal research sectors by open ground and controlled checkpoints, providing a distinction between the secure scientific core and the more routine functions required to sustain the installation.

A substantial defensive wall encloses the wider complex, with controlled access points and internal security positions distributed throughout the compound. The Horuset Proving Grounds therefore function not merely as a research facility, but as a defensible scientific and industrial stronghold, capable of supporting the Domainof Advancement's activities while protecting its personnel, equipment, archives and ongoing projects.

Designed with practicality and expansion in mind, the Proving Grounds serve as an environment in which research, engineering, fabrication and application operate in close coordination. Projects can be conceived within the Core, developed within specialised laboratories, constructed within the manufacturing sectors and prepared for eventual field use without leaving the wider installation.

The Horuset Proving Grounds now stand as the foundation and principal heart of the Domain of Advancement, the location from which its Divisions are coordinated and operate. While the complex remains incomplete, its existing infrastructure already permits meaningful research, prototype development and limited production, with its remaining capacity deliberately configured to accommodate future projects and expansion.

The Proving Grounds are consequently intended to grow alongside the Domain itself: from their current partially occupied state into the principal scientific, technological and industrial centre of Advancement, through which the Domain conducts its research, develops its technologies, produces its prototypes and prepares its work for deployment throughout the wider interests of House Horuset.

The Horuset Proving Grounds are currently operational, but remain considerably below their intended capacity.

A number of laboratories remain vacant pending the recruitment or reassignment of additional specialists. Several manufacturing halls contain space for assembly lines, machinery and specialised equipment that have yet to be installed, while portions of the pentagonal complex have deliberately been left configurable to accommodate future projects and changing requirements.

The installation should therefore be regarded as an established foundation rather than a finished facility. Its basic infrastructure is already functional, but continued investment in personnel, equipment, manufacturing capability and research resources will be necessary before the Proving Grounds reach their intended scale. The facility is expected to expand progressively alongside the Domain of Advancement itself, with each new project and Division increasing the practical demands placed upon its laboratories, workshops, storage systems and production infrastructure.

Spoiler: Resource Allocation

The Proving Grounds presently receive materials, machinery and refined resources from Praxis Strategic Industries on Ferron.

At present, however, this support remains comparatively minor. The greater share of Praxis' available output is currently being directed towards the ongoing construction of the Imperial Academy of Applied Sciences owned by Apprentice Agran, leaving only a limited proportion available for the expansion of the Proving Grounds, a temporary arrangement.

Upon completion of the Academy's principal construction requirements, Praxis Strategic Industries is expected to substantially redistribute its production in favour of the Domain of Advancement and the continued development of the Proving Grounds.

Under this arrangement, the Horuset Proving Grounds will become the principal recipient of Praxis industrial output, receiving approximately three quarters of its available production for the continued expansion of laboratories, manufacturing infrastructure, research equipment, prototype programmes and the wider requirements of the Domain of Advancement.

The current limitations of the Proving Grounds are therefore not intended to be permanent. As Praxis Strategic Industries completes its present obligations and redirects the majority of its output towards Advancement, the complex will gradually gain the personnel, machinery and resources necessary to fill its vacant laboratories, activate additional manufacturing lines and expand its research capabilities.

The Horuset Proving Grounds are presently sustained by an established personnel complement of 270 units, sufficient to maintain core research, engineering, logistical and facility systems. The four Divisions and Central Research & Prototyping Core are staffed alongside dedicated industrial, transport and support personnel. Security is provided by a garrison of 18 personnel, adequate for internal control, controlled access and perimeter presence. While operational, several laboratories remain vacant and manufacturing sectors await additional equipment and assembly lines, leaving the Proving Grounds below their intended capacity.

Serenna Bacta Facility



Currently, the Serenno Bacta Farm operates at minimal capacity, maintaining only essential cultivation pools and microbial cultures. Expansion of growth areas and processing will be required to reach full production.

The Serenno Bacta Farm, owned by Apprentice Agran, is a modest cultivation site dedicated to producing the organic compounds required for bacta, the viscous, gelatin-like substance renowned for its near-miraculous healing properties. Within controlled fields and growth basins, specialized crops and microbial cultures are carefully maintained to generate the biological agents that form the foundation of bacta’s regenerative function.

Central to production are cultivated bacterial strains and plant-derived materials, mirroring the natural components of bacta, most notably alazhi and kavam microorganisms suspended within a nutrient medium. These cultures produce a thick, slimey secretion which is then promptly harvested and transferred to nearby processing units where it is finally stabilized into a usable medical compound. Once properly refined, the substance is then stored in sealed tanks, ready for transport and/or medical deployment. 

The farm operates through steady growth cycles, with technicians overseeing environmental balance, nutrient flow, and microbial health to ensure consistent yield. Designed for reliability over output, the Serenno Bacta Farm functions as a quiet self-contained production node where the process of growth, cultivation and refinement converge to sustain a dependable supply of one of the galaxy’s most valuable medical resources for the Horuset Powerbase's medical needs.

Spoiler: Personnel

The Serenno Bacta Farm currently operates under constrained conditions, with 20 staff-members maintaining cultivation cycles, system integrity and minimal processing capability. Output remains thus limited. Security presence consists of a light detachment of 8 guards, tasked with perimeter monitoring and internal oversight.

Domain Aligned Vessels

The Dependable is a civilian transport vessel formerly operating along predictable routes to and from Ord Trasi acquired through a flawless deployment organized by Advancement's SED. Tasked with the routine movement of supplies intended for the hygiene and hospitality sectors, its unremarkable purpose has allowed it to avoid significant scrutiny. This combination of reliability and low strategic profile makes the vessel particularly well suited for infiltration within Republic or neutral-territory without leaving any Imperial-implication, and thus makes it most suited for the uses of the Strategic Espionage Division.

The Resolute is a recently constructed VT-22 Light Troop Transport, a military support vessel part of Battle Group Kalakar commissioned under the authority of Apprentice Agran, whom serves also as its Sith Commander, to provide the Domain of Advancement with an independent logistical asset, reducing formerly established dependencies on other Domains which had ultimately proven sub-optimal for its growing requirements. Designed for the deployment of personnel, equipment and specialized assets, the vessel's flexible configuration allows it to serve as a troop carrier, cargo transport or limited forward deployment platform depending on the different operational needs, supporting initiatives ranging from engineering deployments to research operations and other strategic logistical movements, captained by Captain Nedric Holloc, a somewhat elderly yet highly seasoned, dutiful and patriotic Imperial with staunch Kalkoran loyalties.

The Crucible Mandate



The Crucible Mandate is a strategic consolidation initiative enacted by Lord Atas and the Sphere of Advancement, established to identify, catalogue and coordinate the scientific, technological and medical assets held within the whole Horuset Powerbase.

Created in preparation for large-scale military deployment, it serves as a centralized registry for the Powerbase's research and development capabilities. The registry encompasses laboratories, research facilities, medical and cybernetic programs, engineering initiatives, specialist personnel and experimental projects capable of contributing scientific or technological advancements to the coming war effort.

For too long, the advancement efforts of House Horuset have relied upon independent initiatives, isolated researchers and scattered facilities operating without centralized oversight. While such efforts have yielded valuable discoveries, they have also resulted in fragmented development, duplicated effort and scientific capabilities remaining confined to their individual masters. The Mandate thus exists to ensure that the Powerbase's collective research and development capabilities are identified, catalogued and well directed when required.

Registration within the Crucible does not constitute confiscation, reassignment or permanent transfer of ownership. Assets remain under the authority of their respective masters. The mandate instead provides the Sphere of Advancement with the oversight necessary to identify available expertise, direct research efforts where required and marshal the scientific strength of the Powerbase as per its founding mandate.

All Sith and personnel possessing research or development assets of strategic value are expected to register them with the Crucible. Registered assets will be classified, maintained within the Sphere's records and employed in accordance with the operational needs of the Powerbase throughout the duration of the mandate.
