["Lore"] The Holy Misas Gesture

#1
Star
(( I am not sorry, but I apologize. ))

The act of Misas is a traditional Sith gesture of reverence to their Left-Handed God, Typpjem. It is a gesture in which the worshipper simultaneously drops the head while raising an arm and the elbow in a gesture that has been noted by the less devoted to resemble “sneezing”.

To mistake the act of Misas for sneezing is in fact a heavy offense to those who still hold the blood of the great dark lords of the sith in their veins.

First, an explanation of the history of the gesture.

Hailing from the time of king Adas, the gesture is meant to represent complete reverence towards the creed of the Left-Handed God, Unholy Typhojem. Legends have it that the original Kissai priests who revered him in his hallowed halls would worship in turn by both prostrating themselves and then raising their arms up as if to elevate Him in their midst.

Over time, it is said that the seers of the Red Sith did receive a message from their unholy god- that they must both show complete submission to the dark side by kneeling and burying their head in their arms while at the same time raising their arms. This presented a logistical problem.

The ancient priests, in their unholy wisdom, did thus lock themselves within their cloisters and temples. Their God had given them what seemed to be an impossible task; a great crisis of faith occured amongst the ranks.

After three days and three nights of continuous contemplation, the priests had their answer.

The oldest, wisest, and proudest of them took his Unholy Crozier and used it to support him up his ascent up the tallest mountain of Ziost or wherever the Sith were at that point, the people gathering below to listen to his words.

“O,” said the High Priest, his very word seeming to be tinted red with the blood of our ancestors. (( colour this part red on the forums ))

The people were awestruck at his declaration.

“... O…” Said the high priest, his facial tendrils twitching along with his nose as Typhojem’s Unholy Word filled him.

The people listened, rapt with attention.

“O… oO-” The priest suddenly moved his head downwards, his face contorting as a mighty Exhale Of Unholiness left him.

The people followed his gesture. Each of them solemnly dropped their heads down and raised their elbows up, an arm raising into the sky in a wave that built from the mountain.

It is said that for forty days and forty nights afterwards, blackened unholy lightning clashed upon the peaks of the mountain, heralding the approval of their great god. Those who suggested it was a sneeze were executed soon after.

The gesture remains within Sith culture to this day, and nobody ever questioned it ever. The end.

Ongoing Crisis
The Republic Marches amongst lit fires!

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

After the Republic liberated Pollus from Imperial influence, Anx Minor was devastated by I.T.E.C.’s nuclear mining and lingering Sith presence, while the Kesmere Ridge remained largely intact, enabling the Republic to steadily infiltrate and influence its powerful corporate systems. On Tertiary Kesmere—the largest hub—three megacorporations dominated: Oriyn Prospecting discovered resources, Kessdyne Resource Group extracted and profited from the capital Vethar’s Reach and its Ciivic Council, and Haeltor Maritime handled off-world transport. Beneath the façade of economic growth, however, The Republic secretly aimed to turn Tertiary Kesmere into a strategic launch point for operations in the Northern Territories. Contacted by Moff Vayen Korr, the Marshalling Prefect of the Northern Territories, the Pentarchy of House Horuset took on the job of delaying the Republic's actions. With preperations laid it culminated in a strike planetside lasting only two weeks to ignite anarchy. Acting covertly to sabotage Republic progress, they destabilized the region, leaving chaos in their wake as corporations collapsed under their own deception and local anti-corporate guilds rose up—unaware of the Empire’s hidden hand behind the unrest...

((OOC: Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state will determine how strong the Republic will be in given areas area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
