Mission Report: Low-Hanging Fruit

#1
Navigating the Webs

For this mission, there was more than a handful of people - of note, Neophytes Leive and Nivalis, Apprentices Mal, Syndathik, and Lyrua, plus myself, Corporal "Coach" Geskar, and a couple of Acolytes... Hozan and Khassarn, I believe. We were to infiltrate the base of a group of pirates that the Imperial forces had taken on before. There were two routes - one guarded by an E-Web, the other was a cave.

From what I was told, Apprentice Mal and Nivalis came against a large spider, along with one of the Acolytes. The rest of the Sith forces were to hang back while the Corporal scouted ahead with me, and that's when we encountered a sniper. Neophyte Leive provided unwitting distraction, so the pair of us moved up - cover to cover along the rocks. When the E-Web was also coming into play, I traded my modified rifle with the Corporal so he could take out the Sniper, while I provided distraction. I took a shot on the way, utilizing smoke while a group and the E-Web fired at it, but he took out the Sniper, allowing the Sith group to move up through cover to get closer.

Suggesting a climb, Neophyte Leive and myself began climbing opposite rock walls for flanking, the Corporal distracting the E-Web by utilizing a Grenade Launcher he'd gotten permission for. I got up just in time to eliminate two pirates firing on the emerging cave group, moving ahead and taking out the E-Web operator, though getting a shot for my troubles. Persisting, though, helping the Neophyte take out the forces on the opposite side, another man was prevented from working the turret and a third was blown up by the Corporal.

We all split up, on a timetable - myself, the Corporal, and Neophyte Leive took one building, the others split further. A molotov cocktail was set up as a booby trap, and the Neophyte got lit aflame before we could get there, since I was disarming the emplacement. Moving on, she sliced through a locked door, and we were fired on. Two more shots from the Scatterblaster seem to have made a huge mess of that issue, and then we got through two last rooms. The Neophyte dealt with a peg-legged man that had a Scatterblaster shot in his leg, while the Corporal took out another man with a vibrosword. I stunned a man at a computer terminal, and disarmed a Thermal just before it went off, saving the data. And... the two of us in the room, technically.

Final Verdict

One building seems to have had a family, another, a crate full of Republic Weaponry. The Thermal I disarmed and the E-Web were both also high-grade Republic. We retrieved several prisoners in addition to the Databank, and due to coordination with the Corporal, managed to get the lines through to the final run. There were multiple praises of our actions from the Sith, for which I will leave this report open until Apprentice Zotam can elaborate further. Theorizing, we believe that these were directly supplied by the Republic, if not Republic themselves.

For the Empire, for Darth Horuset,
Sergeant Thymius "Savior" Rees

[the report seems to be left open for someone's input - also attached are bodycam clips of the e-web itself, along with a couple stills of the grenade.]

Post Debrief Recommendations:

From the information presented to me during the debrief I believe that both Sergeant Thymius Rees and Corporal Harridax Geskar are deserving of rewards that recognize their efforts in this mission. Their performances have been individually assessed below. It is worth noting that during the debrief the following Apprentices and Neophytes suggested these Imperials are rewarded for their efforts: Apprentice Teran Mal, Apprentice Rikki Syndathik and Neophyte Leive.

==========

Sergeant Thymius Rees

Recommendation - The Imperial Cross of Victory

I am recommending Sergeant Rees for the Imperial Cross of Victory because, alongside Corporal Geskar, she greatly influenced the outcome of the mission and without her it wouldn't have been successful.

- Eliminated a Sniper, allowing otherwise pinned allies to advanced
- Drew fire from the majority of the enemy forces, putting oneself in danger, in order to progress the mission
- Flanked the enemy, dealing significant casualties
- Identified and seized Republic equipment, giving key intel on how the pirate forces are so well equipped.

It is my belief that without these efforts the mission would not have been as great of a success as it was, the Imperials in the field greatly influencing the outcome.

Recommendation - Mark of the Skilled

I am recommending Sergeant Rees for the Mark of the Skilled because, if not for her skill as an engineer, the thermal detonator would have destroyed the terminal that contained key intel - and if not for her skill I am sure that an attempted retrieval by another would have resulted in damage to the datacore and thus loss of intel.

Corporal Harridax Geskar

Recommendation - The Imperial Cross of Victory

I am recommending Corporal Geskar for the Imperial Cross of Victory because, alongside Sergeant Rees he greatly influenced the outcome of the mission and without him it wouldn't have been successful.

- Eliminated a Sniper, allowing otherwise pinned allies to advanced
- Drew fire from the majority of the enemy forces, putting oneself in danger, in order to progress the mission
- Flanked the enemy, dealing significant casualties

It is my belief that without these efforts the mission would not have been as great of a success as it was, the Imperials in the field greatly influencing the outcome.

Recommendation - The Purple Heart I

I am recommending Corporal Geskar for this medal because he was gravely wounded in the last mission, Passenger Side, exactly one week prior to him deploying on this mission - suffering damage to his lungs. It is my belief that his deployment, and more than admirable performance, whilst not fully recovered in the field after such a grave injury is worthy of merit and reward.

Furthermore, from what he said it seems that his lung will not fully heal and will permanently be left performing at a sub optimal level. I do not know how effective this recommendation will be, but I believe that a soldier of this caliber should not be restricted by such things - and if the technology exists he should be equipped with a cybernetic to allow him to perform at full capacity once more.

==========

That concludes my recommendations for these deployments, if there are any questions do not hesitate to contact me. And if these recommendations are not in line with Imperial protocol, be sure to contact me and correct them - so that the mistakes are not repeated in the future.

For the Dark Lord, for the Empire!

Ongoing Crisis
The Republic Marches amongst lit fires!

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

After the Republic liberated Pollus from Imperial influence, Anx Minor was devastated by I.T.E.C.’s nuclear mining and lingering Sith presence, while the Kesmere Ridge remained largely intact, enabling the Republic to steadily infiltrate and influence its powerful corporate systems. On Tertiary Kesmere—the largest hub—three megacorporations dominated: Oriyn Prospecting discovered resources, Kessdyne Resource Group extracted and profited from the capital Vethar’s Reach and its Ciivic Council, and Haeltor Maritime handled off-world transport. Beneath the façade of economic growth, however, The Republic secretly aimed to turn Tertiary Kesmere into a strategic launch point for operations in the Northern Territories. Contacted by Moff Vayen Korr, the Marshalling Prefect of the Northern Territories, the Pentarchy of House Horuset took on the job of delaying the Republic's actions. With preperations laid it culminated in a strike planetside lasting only two weeks to ignite anarchy. Acting covertly to sabotage Republic progress, they destabilized the region, leaving chaos in their wake as corporations collapsed under their own deception and local anti-corporate guilds rose up—unaware of the Empire’s hidden hand behind the unrest...

((OOC: Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state will determine how strong the Republic will be in given areas area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
