An Analysis on Ancient Weapons - Lanvaroks, Shikkars and Sith Warblades - By Acolyte

#1
Written and Edited by Korenna Hvite

INTRODUCTION

Efficient, Deadly and Beautiful, these are adjectives to have easily adhered to ancient weapons used on our past. Sith have used several weapons before the invention of protosabers, and thus the creation of the first lightsabers to battle with. Having recently been blessed with knowledge by the hands of Sith Soti, I've taken to myself the task of making an analysis about the weapons being spoken in the said lesson, focusing mainly on their capabilities, and simplified in order to create an easy read.

Lanvarok

The Lanvarok, a weapon designed for both melee and ranged combat, is, simplified, a polearm with a projectile launcher mounted on, it does also exist in a wrist-mounted version, where the user is limited to launching the projectiles, which are discs normally infused with poison, it is unknown to me if you could redirect the trajectory of the projectile using the Force, but it is highly probable to be easily done by an experienced Sith. Traditionally used to be mounted on the left hand (as of tradition with the left-handed disposition by Sith Purebloods), there are also right-handed variations, created for Human Usage by the Dark Jedi who came to Korriban. Common users of this weaponry were the Massassi, which favored its polearm functions in addition to their disc throws, mainly used for hunting, but also for combat. Dates for the usages of the weapon could be per example during the times of Naga Sadow and his invasion of the Republic, during the Great Hyperspace War. The weapon was labeled outdated and other weapons succeeded it, yet since so many times passed it does make me think that this weapon could be effective again due to the lack of modern tactics to counter it. It is unknown to me if there are some blueprints in order to fabricate one, but I theorize that maybe some Sith Holocrons may have the information required for those willing to create it.

Shikkar

The Shikkar, a complex dagger (and in my subjective view, a very beautiful one), is an assassin's tool, crafted by sorcery and alchemy which escapes my knowledge, the size of the blade is about a human finger and it's pommel about a human hand, of easy concealment undersleeves, it is undetectable to scanners and its use in ancient times was to be interpreted as an insult to the victim, due to its high concealment, it's a choice weapon for High target assassinations. The tip of the Shikkar was one of fragility, due to its blade made of glass, but the fragility was intended as the dagger was to be stabbed and then rotated with force in order to make it shatter in several glasses, creating a painful and slow death due to poison infusion and infection of the wound. This dagger was also used for avenging. There's not any known practitioner of using the Shikkar that remains on my knowledge but I hypothesize that certain assassins at the service of higher Sith may own Shikkars to perform their art.

Sith Warblade

Sith blades, or most commonly known as Sith Warblades, are melee weapons used by ancient Sith mostly used until the end of the Great Hyperspace War. Similar to weapons used by Jedi (except better) during that time, their difference is noted via the enhancing using Sith Alchemy and fueled by the Dark Side, they were capable of facing lightsabers in combat (it is to be noted, however, that Lightsabers perform better rather than Sith Warblades in open combat if that was not the case, we would still be using them as current weaponry, something that the most staunch traditionalists could do).
The blades can be from 3 to 7 kg, a very heavy mass, but justified due to its embeddings with the Dark Side. One plus that the Sith blades own is the capability of building a Nexus on it, binding the wielder with the blade, a rare case, yet still doable.

Ongoing Crisis
The Republic Marches amongst lit fires!

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

After the Republic liberated Pollus from Imperial influence, Anx Minor was devastated by I.T.E.C.’s nuclear mining and lingering Sith presence, while the Kesmere Ridge remained largely intact, enabling the Republic to steadily infiltrate and influence its powerful corporate systems. On Tertiary Kesmere—the largest hub—three megacorporations dominated: Oriyn Prospecting discovered resources, Kessdyne Resource Group extracted and profited from the capital Vethar’s Reach and its Ciivic Council, and Haeltor Maritime handled off-world transport. Beneath the façade of economic growth, however, The Republic secretly aimed to turn Tertiary Kesmere into a strategic launch point for operations in the Northern Territories. Contacted by Moff Vayen Korr, the Marshalling Prefect of the Northern Territories, the Pentarchy of House Horuset took on the job of delaying the Republic's actions. With preperations laid it culminated in a strike planetside lasting only two weeks to ignite anarchy. Acting covertly to sabotage Republic progress, they destabilized the region, leaving chaos in their wake as corporations collapsed under their own deception and local anti-corporate guilds rose up—unaware of the Empire’s hidden hand behind the unrest...

((OOC: Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state will determine how strong the Republic will be in given areas area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
