[IC] A'tul's Holo-Diary (Not Available IC)

#6
Entry 6: Sacrifice

The holocom beamed to life, offering a man now with a light shade of hair across his lower face, resembling the start of a growing beard. His eyes glimmered a hue of amber as it stared at the device, a sort of stoic expression about him as his posture remained seated. There he was leaning back against a chair, hands clasped together on his lap. With a sharp inhale of contemplation, he would proceed to speak his usual introduction.

"Log Six, entitled 'Sacrifice'. Apprentice A'tul, Assistant Overseer of House Horuset and Apprentice to Lord Tarati. A recent development to which has changed. My master now bears the title of Lordship, which in turn will be assured to benefit me in due time. I will not dwell on the nature of the title or how it came to, but rather what it means for me as his singular Apprentice."

A'tul adjusted himself, leaning forwards as his elbows leaned against the kneecaps upon his legs. His hands remained clasped, both index fingers reaching upwards to tap against each-other just in front of his mouth, remaining silent for a considerate moment in his thoughts. Yet the silent remained short, he let out a sort of huff before once more speaking.

"It is the time of change and ascension, it would seem. My love, Kaer, would have ascended to Lordship, Runil now becoming a Household Sith in coordination to my master ascending to Lordship. I consider this an act due to something arising, the Dark Lord has plans and I intend to watch carefully as it unfolds under her new design. Despite these ascensions, Lord Kalkoran and Lord Sanguinis remain firmly at their posts, ever vigilant and stamping out any competition to their reign of supremacy. I often wonder if this is by the will of the Dark Lord, or this Kalkoran powerbase is continuously aiming to seek control in all corners of this powerbase. With the temporary closure of the Curriculum by the hand of Lord Kalkoran, I can imagine he has something planned to benefit himself solely."

The man's fingers stopped for a moment, the index fingers retracting back into his balled fists, they clenched upon once again as he proceeded to speak, remaining relatively calm at this point in the projection.

"Lord Kalkoran referred to me once as my mother, as well as Lord Priaa. I believe he knows the Darkness that draws from me on that subject specifically. How he knows, I have no doubt is from Lord Sanguinis and his ties to Polaris. A victory for the Lord for the moment. I will not waste the pain or torment he provides to me - It brings me power. To which I am becoming far more powerful than the naive child before the man I have become, Almir Priaa. It is a sacrifice I have made for the benefit of my strength. I will become the greatest duelist this powerbase will ever see. None will hold a challenge to me in due time in single combat. This too benefits my master, Lord Tarati. But... I have much work to do to perfect my form, to integrate it carefully to the specifies variant I have intended."

A smile slowly crept itself upon the pale Echani's expression, a sort of joy from his own words. Delusional, but understood that he had to display confidence. He then lowered his hands slightly, crossing them over one another on a table before him, glancing to his left slightly as if eyeing something specific.

"I ponder cautiously about my future. Now with the Dark Lord understanding my heritage, and with my developments within House Horuset, everything is going as I had intended. Whilst many Acolytes observe my work as cruel, harsh and neglectful, I find my efforts not in vain due to the number of works from my 'chosen' assignments. Acolyte Rikki and Acolyte Tel'kyria. Two Acolytes I am keeping a close eye on, displaying both their adept understanding of not only their abilities, but the standard to which Acolytes may roam. The latter is far more competent than the former. My master has instructed me to perform harsh tests, and he would be pleased to know I have done so, not for him, but for my own benefit. Collectively through the loud mouths of the Acolytes that roam around the pair of my chosen, I have developed enough information to enact an intended course of action. Though the very mention of such now will make me wonder whether it will work. I will sacrifice to get what I want, and so far, it has developed as intended."

A'tul would snicker slightly, a hand reaching over to his right as if he were doing something. A slight sound of a young child venturing through the holo, making a sort of silly noise. There A'tul shook his head, but kept a warming smile.

"I do all I can for the future of my family. My soon to be wife, my child and any future I have with any of them. Kaer, Dimitri. I do all this for you, and I only hope that you understand the sacrifices I will make for the pair of you. My mother told me the same. To be the man I was always meant to be, to forge a destiny that is mine alone, not a shadow of her, or my fathers. I will not fail."

The projection would flicker once again, before shutting off entirely, closing itself away from the Echani.

Ongoing Crisis
The Republic Marches amongst lit fires!

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

After the Republic liberated Pollus from Imperial influence, Anx Minor was devastated by I.T.E.C.’s nuclear mining and lingering Sith presence, while the Kesmere Ridge remained largely intact, enabling the Republic to steadily infiltrate and influence its powerful corporate systems. On Tertiary Kesmere—the largest hub—three megacorporations dominated: Oriyn Prospecting discovered resources, Kessdyne Resource Group extracted and profited from the capital Vethar’s Reach and its Ciivic Council, and Haeltor Maritime handled off-world transport. Beneath the façade of economic growth, however, The Republic secretly aimed to turn Tertiary Kesmere into a strategic launch point for operations in the Northern Territories. Contacted by Moff Vayen Korr, the Marshalling Prefect of the Northern Territories, the Pentarchy of House Horuset took on the job of delaying the Republic's actions. With preperations laid it culminated in a strike planetside lasting only two weeks to ignite anarchy. Acting covertly to sabotage Republic progress, they destabilized the region, leaving chaos in their wake as corporations collapsed under their own deception and local anti-corporate guilds rose up—unaware of the Empire’s hidden hand behind the unrest...

((OOC: Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state will determine how strong the Republic will be in given areas area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
