[IC] A'tul's Holo-Diary (Not Available IC)

#7
Entry 7: Rebirth

The projection of the holocom after so long would flicker once again, the entries so long neglected beaming to life once more. But now, unlike before, the projection did not show the humbly scared and tainted Apprentice, lightly grazed with corruption. It showed the full weight of the Dark Side of the Household Sith, of Sith Kelsa. After so long, the changes were almost astronomical in proportion, a new man, sporting an unshaved face, where pale fibers now littered the once pristinely shaved man.

His expression, despite the time, had not changed much. He like before portrayed himself in a stoic manner, lips thinned in a near horizontal line, his eyes narrowed ever so slightly and his chin elevated to display a more pompous yet refined look. A shallow exhale ventured throughout his nose, allowing his nostrils to flare ever so slightly in his preparations to speak into the holocom.

"Log Seven. Titled 'Rebirth' as to describe the manner of which I return to these ghastly self reports. My name is Sith A'tul Kelsa of House Horuset, former Head Overseer. Much has changed since I was last here... My power foams at the seems, the power within me beats like an echoing bellow of adrenaline. I feel the raw power of the Sith, and it is intoxicating to me. A drug of which I can fuel my power, to channel in such a way that creates fear in my enemies. I have longed for this day... For this -power-."

The man neither smiled, nor did he frown at the notion of his words, though he paused to dwell further on them in a considerate moment. His left hand, metallic in nature, trailed upwards to brush seamlessly through his thick, silver locks. The utilization and expression of his hand signals perhaps un-natural to the usual viewer. A'tul acknowledged this usage, and his lips drooped subtle to form the slightest of frowns. The Echani's hand trailed downwards as swiftly as it came upwards, and the man stared towards it in momentary contemplation. His next words followed...

"With this power comes a sacrifice. The 'Echani' that I had desired to be, gone is he. Reborn. Now, I know for sure that Almir Priaa is dead. I am following this lure, the mannerism of the Sith taking manifestation over the alien within. It is a blessing... But it is also a curse. To my wife, to my children. I am becoming someone they do not know, that they do not recognize. My love for them, my desire for them, along side their thoughts for me becoming a shadow of its former self. Yet, I have done all this for them. My passions have been for them."

"It is ironic. For I aspired to become more powerful -for- them, and yet, in the process, I have lost a connection to them that I would not have if I did not pursue my aspirations. A double edged sword. Power, in exchange of pure emotions. Strength, in exchange of lust. Is this the Sith way, I often wonder? Or is my progressing heartlessness a trial that the Dark Side has given to me, to further strengthen my power? That sacrificing my own daughter was not enough? Or was it too much for my fragility to handle? So many questions. But, in the end, it is all irrelevant. For now, I -have- this power."

His near crimson gaze trailed across the patterns on his crafted hands design, carefully considering each flaw, and each perfection in the craftsmanship. Yet his piercing gaze elevated itself to stare at the viewer, a sense of anger beneath it, an unfurling rage, untamed and wanting to come out. His expression, was unchanging. The stoic nature of the man shrouding the fire beneath it.

"I have such plans. -Such- plans in motion. From the words of Lord Kalkoran, to the plans of House Kelsa. Sith Leive, Lord Iezkon, myself, Apprentice Nivalis, Apprentice Lyrua, Apprentice Madros. We are a power to behold, and few has seen the potential of us. Few have acknowledged that we -are- a power, hidden in the shadows of larger egos. But soon, we will reveal ourselves... My enemies will in that moment be crushed by the amounted power I have allotted, as they bickered, as they fumbled over one another for a semblance of power, I have created unity, I have created strength that will be unmatched in the coming days."

"Alas, arrogance will be my downfall. I reserve my eagerness, I am patient as I have always been. For now, the background is where I will remain."

The Echani exhaled once more through his nose, his lips parted for a moment as if he were about to speak, but nothing came out for that moment. He paused and then he tilted his head to the left, again speaking, now with consideration.

"My time as Head Overseer was a necessary means to prove my worth, but it has far passed the relevance of the power I posses. Such matters fall into a trusted second, one I have longed considered a competent Sith. Syndathik. I have faith that she will become a capable Sith, one sorely underestimated by a great deal of others. It is for this reason I personally recommended her alone to Lord Kalkoran. I too consider my future, a new Apprentice. For now, the choice is complex. Yet one stands out amongst the others, one that reminds myself of me, when I too was an Acolyte. Undermining those better than me. Acolyte Cuvao. Whilst he sets himself on a dangerous path, his path is one that can be useful to me. We will see if he survives the trials, or his own negligence."

A'tul would lower his chin and stare blankly into the frame of the holocom, the subtle pause here only brief as he continued onwards.

"Many plans are formulated... All is going as I have anticipated. The Station. House Kelsa. My own ambition. It trials a dark path, a dangerous path. One I know now, I can handle."
"With every success, there is elements of potential failure. Such a potential failure will challenge every fiber of what I am. Everything I have done has lead to this moment. To challenge House Priaa. To defeat my mentor, and expose her for the traitor she is. Lord Jadie Priaa..."
"I both fear, but relish in this opportunity set by the Dark Lord. I sense my Apprentice may turn on me in this process. For that, I will be ever vigilant, and I will place Nivalis carefully in the design of my plans... Nivalis is abrupt. But he is more dangerous than people realize. One day, I will exploit that. Or if I am unfortunate, he will."

"In the end. I do this for the Dark Lord's grace. In the end. I am her servant, and I will do as she commands, without exception. For if I don't, she will take -everything- from me. There is no failure... There -will be no- failure."

The holocom flickered at this moment, allowing the face of the Echani to dissipate gradually over the next few seconds. What was said was now held forever in this log. Unchanged.

Ongoing Crisis
The Republic Marches amongst lit fires!

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

After the Republic liberated Pollus from Imperial influence, Anx Minor was devastated by I.T.E.C.’s nuclear mining and lingering Sith presence, while the Kesmere Ridge remained largely intact, enabling the Republic to steadily infiltrate and influence its powerful corporate systems. On Tertiary Kesmere—the largest hub—three megacorporations dominated: Oriyn Prospecting discovered resources, Kessdyne Resource Group extracted and profited from the capital Vethar’s Reach and its Ciivic Council, and Haeltor Maritime handled off-world transport. Beneath the façade of economic growth, however, The Republic secretly aimed to turn Tertiary Kesmere into a strategic launch point for operations in the Northern Territories. Contacted by Moff Vayen Korr, the Marshalling Prefect of the Northern Territories, the Pentarchy of House Horuset took on the job of delaying the Republic's actions. With preperations laid it culminated in a strike planetside lasting only two weeks to ignite anarchy. Acting covertly to sabotage Republic progress, they destabilized the region, leaving chaos in their wake as corporations collapsed under their own deception and local anti-corporate guilds rose up—unaware of the Empire’s hidden hand behind the unrest...

((OOC: Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state will determine how strong the Republic will be in given areas area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
