Khirus' journal

#4
Entry #4

A mixture of sighs, sounds of Acolyte robes entering and leaving the Archives fill the air and a faint sound of flimsiplast being rolled open and the pen starting to fly on it’s surface.

“I have nearly forgotten to write, since so much has happened within short period of time. Last week we were sent to Korriban to retrieve a Zakuulian armor which first felt like an easy retrieval mission but it was much.. much more than that. One of the other Acolytes found a boot and after quick examination chose to pull it which in return made the very air to fill with ominous buzzing sound. We managed to disturb a mount of Pelko bugs which without remorse surrounded us, their hungry jaws snapping within their mouths and most likely drooled if they are capable of such, as their primitive minds saw a feast before them.

The orders were given and what surprised even our superiors, the Acolytes and few Apprentices who accompanied us formed a protective circle in unison, so we could both attack and defend every angle leaving little room for the insects to maneuver. In the fight I lost my canteen, however it was useful tool eradicating the insects and every single Acolyte who were on that mission worked to their limits and we survived without major damages, one of us overused their stamina and fatigue won. We were complimented and I could have sworn that I heard an ounce of approval towards our actions. Once we were back on Th’Asidra Apprentice Siors wanted to have a word with me, he had heard from somewhere or someone that I am craftsman by profession and he even let me have a look of his amulet, one he had received during a time when I still wasn’t a part of the Horuset powerbase and naturally I offered my services if he would ever need repair of some jewelry of his, and he also suggested me to discuss with few superiors who are skilled in the arts of Alchemy, a skill what might prove very useful in the future should I start to learn it.”

Khirus let his eyes wonder towards the many Acolytes reading, learning and making their own notes before he rolled the pen between his fingers and started to write again.

“We had a lesson considering Force Barriers, first a few words of theory behind the ability quickly followed by the practical part of the lesson. The sensation, the power I felt coursing trough my veins when I succeeded in conjuring a full Force Barrier for the first time in my existence was intoxicating. The very fact that I succeeded, shall fuel the fire in me to become stronger and wiser, and a worthy addition to the Horuset powerbase. Another lesson was held later in Shii-Cho and more precisely Sun Djem. Once again I was victorious, however something didn’t felt quite right, it might very likely be my past failures trying to envelope my future in the shadows, that I might not never know.

I saw death during my time in Korriban Academy, Acolytes being murdered or after they opened their mouths to wrong people, but never I had felt it this closely before. One of the Acolytes, a Human male arrived at one of the lessons late, late enough for a severe punishment. The punishment was that those present on the lesson, were ordered to form a line, channel their emotions and release a Force Push towards the Acolyte in unison. At first he was able to deflect the attacks of his peers but like every shield, the one he conjured cracked, bones broke and life starting to leave his mutilated body. He was taken to the Medbay but few moments after we got an announcement telling that he indeed, passed away. That should be enough for the rest of the Acolytes to arrive in lessons in time, or not at all.”

An expression not too common to be on the young Purebloods face appeared, a smile. Khirus took his flimsiplast but didn’t roll it close, this time he got up from his seat and made his way towards the Mess hall and after finding an empty table he sat down and let the pen to scribe it’s tales once again.

“Another trip to Korriban, another retrieval mission like before which nearly resulted in the death of every single person who were on that mission but we managed to avoid it, for now. Enough of that however.. Something highly unexpected happened yesterday, something what started a huge pyre within my chest, burning like the crucibles of old and giving me the power to melt the eternal frost of Hoth itself!”

Khirus tapped the table for a while with his pen, before taking a long swig from his canteen, rolling the flimsiplast and putting it inside his robes before making his way to the Medbay, to get rid of his bandages and this time leaving without fresh ones.

Ongoing Crisis
The Republic Marches amongst lit fires!

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

After the Republic liberated Pollus from Imperial influence, Anx Minor was devastated by I.T.E.C.’s nuclear mining and lingering Sith presence, while the Kesmere Ridge remained largely intact, enabling the Republic to steadily infiltrate and influence its powerful corporate systems. On Tertiary Kesmere—the largest hub—three megacorporations dominated: Oriyn Prospecting discovered resources, Kessdyne Resource Group extracted and profited from the capital Vethar’s Reach and its Ciivic Council, and Haeltor Maritime handled off-world transport. Beneath the façade of economic growth, however, The Republic secretly aimed to turn Tertiary Kesmere into a strategic launch point for operations in the Northern Territories. Contacted by Moff Vayen Korr, the Marshalling Prefect of the Northern Territories, the Pentarchy of House Horuset took on the job of delaying the Republic's actions. With preperations laid it culminated in a strike planetside lasting only two weeks to ignite anarchy. Acting covertly to sabotage Republic progress, they destabilized the region, leaving chaos in their wake as corporations collapsed under their own deception and local anti-corporate guilds rose up—unaware of the Empire’s hidden hand behind the unrest...

((OOC: Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state will determine how strong the Republic will be in given areas area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
