*A written notice on a board is seen signed by some officers within Leviathan and an officer in the Imperial Diplomatic Service*

"Situation: We've conducted reconnaissance on the surface of Varos VI. We have a good visual idea of their forces and intelligence are working on understanding their capabilities. We still don't know enough about their leader or their purpose. We judge that some of their forces have been recruited from the local aliens or slaves.
Decision at Large: Command want to try a diplomatic solution before we start engaging in firefights. Meanwhile we'll continue our intelligence gathering and mission planning accordingly.
Orders: We're to form a diplomatic party to hail these creatures, speak to their leader and gather as much intelligence that way.

Intelligence Questions:
    1. Key Personnel: Identify the key leaders, lieutenants, and influential members within this group.
    2. Motives: Determine the reasons behind their presence in this sector and what drives their actions.
    3. Goals: Understand their objectives and what they hope to achieve through their activities.
    4. Funding: Discover their sources of funding and how they sustain their operations financially.
    5. Territories and Reinforcements: Determine if they have other territories or bases, as well as any potential reinforcements they can call upon.
    6. Resources and Assets: Identify their valuable resources, ships, weapons, and other assets they utilize in their operations.
    7. Structure and Formation: Gain insights into their organizational structure, hierarchy, and how they operate as a cohesive group.
    8. Alliances and Affiliations: Determine if they have any alliances or affiliations with other pirate groups, organizations, or factions.
    9. Weaknesses: Identify any vulnerabilities, weaknesses, or limitations that can be exploited during negotiations or combat.
    10. Recruitment Methods: Understand how they recruit new members and expand their ranks.
    11. Treatment of Imperials: Assess their stance towards Imperials, whether they hold any biases or prejudices.
    12. Contact with Imperial Resistance: Determine if they have been engaged with any Imperial resistance groups or individuals.
    13. Negotiation Objectives: Discover what they seek to gain through diplomatic negotiations and potential areas of compromise.
    14. Information Sharing: Assess their willingness to share information about their activities, alliances, or other pertinent details.
    15. Conflict Resolution: Determine their preferred methods of resolving conflicts or disputes and their approach to diplomacy.
    16. Relations with Sith Empire: Understand their current relationship or past encounters with the Sith Empire and Imperial forces.
    17. Code of Conduct: Learn about any codes or rules they follow, their ethics, or guiding principles.
    18. Reaction to Imperial Presence: Gauge their reaction to the presence of the Sith Empire in the sector and their potential response to diplomatic overtures.
    19. Intelligence Gathering: Determine their intelligence-gathering capabilities and how they acquire information about their targets or enemies.
    20. Escalation and De-escalation: Assess their propensity for violence, their triggers for escalating conflicts, and their openness to de-escalation efforts.

Good luck.

OOC:
Location: In Orbit over Varos VI, use personal ship or the Herald
OOC Location: Any ship bridge or command room

Added info: Anyone is allowed to join this mission. Even if your character's diplomatic ability is the equivalent to a cat. And if you can make up an excuse of why you'd be sent if that is the case.

Objectives:
Primary Objective I: Find out if the "pirates" will surrender
Secondary Objective I: Intelligence gathering for future missions

Time Frame: 1 month, mission expire the: 2023-07-15

Estimated Party Size: 2-4.

Reminder: Assets are NOT to be earned or taken in these, they are not meant to be for accumulating stuff. Maybe some money and little trophies might be gained but never anything large.

GM Notes: Ask Dalle / Crix

Ongoing Crisis
The Republic Marches amongst lit fires!

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

After the Republic liberated Pollus from Imperial influence, Anx Minor was devastated by I.T.E.C.’s nuclear mining and lingering Sith presence, while the Kesmere Ridge remained largely intact, enabling the Republic to steadily infiltrate and influence its powerful corporate systems. On Tertiary Kesmere—the largest hub—three megacorporations dominated: Oriyn Prospecting discovered resources, Kessdyne Resource Group extracted and profited from the capital Vethar’s Reach and its Ciivic Council, and Haeltor Maritime handled off-world transport. Beneath the façade of economic growth, however, The Republic secretly aimed to turn Tertiary Kesmere into a strategic launch point for operations in the Northern Territories. Contacted by Moff Vayen Korr, the Marshalling Prefect of the Northern Territories, the Pentarchy of House Horuset took on the job of delaying the Republic's actions. With preperations laid it culminated in a strike planetside lasting only two weeks to ignite anarchy. Acting covertly to sabotage Republic progress, they destabilized the region, leaving chaos in their wake as corporations collapsed under their own deception and local anti-corporate guilds rose up—unaware of the Empire’s hidden hand behind the unrest...

((OOC: Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state will determine how strong the Republic will be in given areas area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
