Chapter 20: Defeat into Victory

#1
“The victory on Orsus was decisively won. With Darth Axiom replaced, his powerbase collapsed, and Darth Shaar’s representatives took over administration. With their aid, the Orsus Campaign was swiftly decided, and yet another planet was added to the Empire."

“In high spirits, the Horuset powerbase returned to the Imperial Capital to celebrate and prepare for whatever might come next; and so it did. News trickled down from the top, of the death of Darth Malora, the head of the Pyramid of Scientific Advancement, while on a mission to the distant planet of Onderon to do battle with the Republic. Swiftly, the empty seat was filled by Darth Savik, who lead the Pyramid until she went missing on the distant planet of Dantooine, leaving the seat empty. Yet, that was not all. Soon, more news came, of that under the direction of Emperor Vowrawn Himself, Darth Krovos of the Pyramid of Military Command had begun assembling a grand task force for an assault on the core world of Corellia, integral to the Republic war-effort through the newly-constructed Meridian Complex. An assault that, reportedly, was to be led by the newly-returned and newly-appointed Empire’s Wrath, Darth Malgus."

“And so, large fleets began assembling and coalescing around Vaiken Spacedock, the makings of a grand armada that was soon to set out to Corellia, its intended target. To follow them was the Horuset Armada, intended to aid in securing the systems around Corellia following the victory in the battle. But of course, recent history tells us that such never happened. The Imperial Fleet was smashed over Corellia, breaking against the renewed might of the Republic Navy. A devastating setback, but not yet all was lost. The Horuset powerbase was rerouted to the planet of Plooma, where a swift campaign followed to secure the planet for the Empire. A campaign that came with few major losses, until the very end."

“During the final battle for the fate of Plooma, Lord Sanguinis, the Fist of Horuset, dropped down a deep shaft while in combat with a Jedi. He disappeared, although many hope he still lives. Despite the Fist's loss, Plooma was conquered by and for the Empire, and the Horuset powerbase returned to the Throneworld. New decrees went out, and a new generation of Sith was forged in the fires that burned bright following the conquest of Plooma: Sith Arvanis, the Apprentice to the Dark Lord Herself, who had been made a Household Sith while on Plooma, has now been appointed to a position on the Conservancy as Envoy of Tradition, responsible for a myriad of duties formerly belonging to the missing Fist of Horuset and the now-renamed title of Envoy of Purity. Similarly, Sith Narazri was appointed Envoy of Sight, the diplomatic arm of the Dark Lord’s Conservancy.

“And so, the Horuset powerbase, despite suffering losses, is ready to face the future once more, whatever it may bring.”

- Sith Tarimra, Sith Lorekeeper of the Horuset Powerbase

Ongoing Crisis
The Republic Marches amongst lit fires!

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

After the Republic liberated Pollus from Imperial influence, Anx Minor was devastated by I.T.E.C.’s nuclear mining and lingering Sith presence, while the Kesmere Ridge remained largely intact, enabling the Republic to steadily infiltrate and influence its powerful corporate systems. On Tertiary Kesmere—the largest hub—three megacorporations dominated: Oriyn Prospecting discovered resources, Kessdyne Resource Group extracted and profited from the capital Vethar’s Reach and its Ciivic Council, and Haeltor Maritime handled off-world transport. Beneath the façade of economic growth, however, The Republic secretly aimed to turn Tertiary Kesmere into a strategic launch point for operations in the Northern Territories. Contacted by Moff Vayen Korr, the Marshalling Prefect of the Northern Territories, the Pentarchy of House Horuset took on the job of delaying the Republic's actions. With preperations laid it culminated in a strike planetside lasting only two weeks to ignite anarchy. Acting covertly to sabotage Republic progress, they destabilized the region, leaving chaos in their wake as corporations collapsed under their own deception and local anti-corporate guilds rose up—unaware of the Empire’s hidden hand behind the unrest...

((OOC: Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state will determine how strong the Republic will be in given areas area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
