Report: Social Gathering at House Taril
by Acolyte Agran

To those whom it may concern,

As instructed, I attended the gathering at House Taril in silent observation, presenting myself as befitting an acolyte of minor standing. The event bore the usual trappings of noble decorum, though I found little of lasting substance exchanged beyond the expected pleasantries and hollow affirmations.

Of greater note was my encounter with Duchess Cornellia Vermont. She is a widow, related to House Taril through a deceased scion, with two children who were not present. The Duchess carries herself with some disdain for the social theater in which she is made to participate, although capable to hide her true feelings to some degree.

In private conversation, once assured I held no real political sway, she did not mask her slight irritation, especially to Lady Taril's speech, claiming that it was all "Politics. Alsolun doesn't need speeches pretending everything is alright. It needs action. I imagine that is why you are here." Implying that the Empire, and our Powerbase's presence is here to act and eliminate any lingering threat once and for all.

In summary, Duchess Cornellia Vermont may yet prove a significant voice among the various vassals to House Taril. I would advise keeping a watchful eye upon her movements, and perhaps a direct approach to ensure her desire for action is commended, her resources perhaps put to the Blazing's Sun use to further advance the Empire's progress on Alsolun. > Further personal investigation efforts upon the Houses of Alsolun brought forth that there was no House Vermont onto the planet, hinting at this Duchess Cornellia being a potential spy.

Additionally, during the latter part of the evening, I was alerted to the disruptive behavior of Kolar, a smuggler with ties to the Red Scar Coalition. Kolar has a history of working with House Taril, the Alpine Committee, and various minor houses across Alsolun, often contracted for both “special and fast deliveries” as well as limited bounty enforcement. At the gathering, he had taken it upon himself to stir the pot, directing pointed remarks and criticisms at Superior Supervisor Harkan, drawing unwanted attention and tension among several guests.

On direct command from Sith Andnoa, I moved to detain Kolar. His blaster, holocom, and an empty bandolierwere confiscated without resistance and turned over to Superior Supervisor Harkan for inspection and further handling. In the course of our brief exchange, he referenced the Boli incident, a past operation he claims was sabotaged by faulty intelligence originating from the Committee. Kolar holds a notable grudge against Supervisor Harkan, believing he was unjustly scapegoated for the mission’s failure despite having acted on provided data.

While Kolar maintains no formal standing, his network of contacts and present dissatisfaction pose a potential risk should rebel elements or rival interests seek to exploit him.

In service,
Acolyte Agran.

Ongoing Crisis
War in the Northern Territories

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."

((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
