Public Call for Operation Team Assembly

The file brief was marked with the clearance of Lord Kelsa, Pentarch of Advancement  though the attached prerecorded holomessage bore the visage of Major Grice Tillie, now sporting a green army officers’ uniform. He had not been seen since he last interfaced with House Horuset at the conclusion of the Alsolun insurrection; where he wore the rank and uniform of a Captain within the Ministry of Logistics.

Tillie stood with the shape and form of a seasoned officer; though his post was relatively new to him; his hands clasped in the small of his back, his piercing icy eyes looking at the recording device from beneath his black officer’s cap.

Major Tillie’s voice cuts in, low and deliberate; sharp as a scalpel.

“Imperial assets have been compromised. A shuttle transporting a cadre of engineers from Dromund Kaas to Birgis failed to arrive at its destination. Intelligence confirms interception en route by pirates, where they were subsequently taken to Ciutric IV— a rising pirate stronghold.

Head to Ciutric IV's failing port district where we have traced increased pirate and slaver activity; it is anticipated that the engineers are being auctioned; if they have not been already.

Your directive is clear: secure their release. The method — negotiation, ransom, subterfuge, or decisive force — is at your discretion. Their expertise is vital; their survival is not optional. Their work on focused plasma-coupling modules is… delicate, and would take years to replicate.

If they have already been sold; track them down and reinstate them as Imperial assets. Secondary to this, you will identify the individual responsible for the hijacking and neutralise them, to send a message that the Empire demands order.

For the Empire."

The hologram ceased, fading and allowing the rest of the provided information to flood their screens.

Location: Ciutric IV, Ciurtric System, Ciurtric sector
OOC Location: Mek-Sha for pirate vibes

Objective: This Operation has Two Primary Objectives (must be completed):

Primary Objective I: Secure the release or recovery of Imperial engineers

Primary Objective II: Discover the identity of the person responsible for the hijacking, locate and destroy where possible

Timeframe: One month.

The 11th of September will be the deadline!

Estimated Party Size: Major Tillie recommends a party size of 4 to 5.

Four means planning when to set a date for the Operation for four people with a hard cap of absolutely no more than five. Please find a GM from within this number.

Reward: A lesson from Lord Kelsa.

Reminder: Assets are not to be earned or taken in operations; they are not meant to be for accumulating stuff. Maybe some money and a few trophies might be gained, but never anything large.

Note for the DM: Poke me (Cal) for notes on Discord.

Report: Operation Palustrine
Filed by: Apprentice Agran
Team Composition: Apprentice Agran, Private Meiluzis, Acolyte Ariasha

Upon arrival at the Spaceport, my presence with Private Meiluzis passed without interference, though Acolyte Ariasha, disguised as a mercenary, was delayed by the Port Master for questioning. The man carries only as much weight as bureaucracy grants him, though he clearly attempts to exercise it wherever possible. Acolyte Kyrila failed to appear at the designated time and was absent from the operation.

Following a trail of slaves being brought to the market, we encountered two groups of pirates in conflict. The larger identified themselves as part of the Dren Consortium, a loose organization that contains various pirate groups, under Captain Paik, an Orzleanso. They destroyed the smaller group, who had been escorting slaves. Paik himself proved aggressive and impatient, but his manner reflects strength and experience. He displayed some disdain toward Sith authority, even to the point of open disrespect, yet he carries the discipline of one who can shield his mind. He also muttered open dissent toward the Consortium’s leader, Tssyrg, a lizard (Trandoshan?) he referred to with scorn.

An abduction attempt against Acolyte Ariasha by Consortium pirates was swiftly dealt with, though the Acolyte remained drugged by a syringe in the altercation.

At the market auction, I ensured the Imperial Engineers were acquired without resistance; intimidation proved enough to silence competition. From there, I pursued discussion with Paik directly, requesting a meeting and avoiding payment. As the Engineers were delivered to our Shuttle, we moved into his office and our exchange cut quickly to the matter of his ambitions and my interests. We reached an understanding that once Tssyrg is removed, Paik would take control of the Consortium, aligning himself with our Sphere. In return, he would provide safe passage to Horuset assets and we'd exchange intelligence on profitable targets among our enemies. He recognizes the advantage such backing brings, though his loyalty is not assured without contingencies.

The takeover however could not yet be enacted. Tssyrg remains alive, off-world, and could be driven to retaliate for the loss of the Engineers. His paranoia will make him difficult to draw out, though that paranoia can itself be weaponized into a trap for the close future. When we finished and returned to the landing area to board our Shuttle we were blocked by roughly twenty pirates at the checkpoint. Ariasha had already gone ahead with the Engineers and remained behind the blockade, having anticipated their arrival as they followed my order to follow our men to ensure they were being delivered back to us.

A brief exchange of words before all collapsed into violence. Together with Paik and Meiluzis, I advanced. Ariasha made effective use of explosives, culling many of the enemy. The remainder were dispatched with steel, blaster, and blood. We thus secured the Engineers, unscathed if not for the mental scarring substained from the experience of their captivity, and withdrew without further obstruction, with Captain Paik and his men simulating wounds and similar to ensure they would look the part of having fought and failed to stop our escape.

The operation has achieved its primary objective: the Engineers are returned to us intact. Beyond that, a contact has been established within the Consortium and a path opened to reshape its leadership to our advantage. The second objective will have to be delayed as the target was ultimately off-world. Captain Paik is viable as an instrument, though his loyalty is uncertain; he will require management and preparation for inevitable betrayal. Tssyrg must be removed in time, and care will be needed in shaping the Consortium into a tool the Sphere of Advancement can truly use.

The will of the Empire has been done.

Ongoing Crisis
War in the Northern Territories

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

"The Northern Territories shift under the weight of changing times. With the passage of the ICOT, internal strife amongst Imperial Forces in the North has lessened - though never abated. Although the momentum of the Republic has not yet been met entirely, fortification efforts and victorious naval campaigns have evened the footing at least slightly. Eyes align on systems such as Vykos, Nam'ta and Orsus to see how this proceeds.."

((OOC: The Balance of Power system has begun! Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state at the start of the next war arc will determine how strong the Republic will be in the area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
