An Analysis of my Spar with Darth Leolli Quorran

Upon the conclusion of my lesson on the use of staff weaponry, I noticed that Sith Tarimra appeared to be in conversation with a somewhat older Pureblood, one whom I had not seen before. I elected to introduce myself, and she told me of her name: Darth Leolli Quorran. A brief conversation ensued, and shortly thereafter the Darth threw me into the pit outside the Korriban Academy, demanding that I show her my skills. Sith Tarimra will only be mentioned where his actions made an impact upon the spar itself, for he spent the majority doing little to assist either I or the Dark Lord of the Sith we were within the pit with.

On our entry into the pit, I was placed between Sith Tarimra and Darth Quorran, with the former behind me. Knowing him as I do, I elected to begin with Jar’kai, using the second saber to defend my back as I charged towards the Dark Lord. Entering into Shii-Cho, the Darth appeared to be able to predict my every move - something I have seen only in Sith Tutam prior to his death, and my Master. Regardless, I moved in on the attack, while Sith Tarimra remained back and channeled Force Fear on me, and Darth Quorran quite expertly dodged my every attack. When Sith Tarimra’s attack hit, I lost my ability to focus on the spar at hand, and Darth Quorran indeed attacked him, shattering his Protection and seeing him thrown towards the duel. It was at this point that my mind cleared and I was able to press my assault.

Moving in with a combination of an attempted Sai Tok, a Shiim and a pair of parallel Shiims returning to my own center, I found my attacks masterfully parried away from me as though they were of no threat to the Dark Lord of the Sith, while simultaneously Sith Tarimra attempted a use of Force Lightning on the Dark Lord. Without missing a beat, Darth Quorran not only absorbed, but returned the Lightning to the Sith, seeing it impact upon him. His pain was so severe I could almost feel it myself; indeed, the Sith did well not to make a sound. Darth Quorran, throughout this whole endeavor, rarely needed to see her lightsaber used in any manner other than to see my attacks diverted with the ease of water over its fall. Indeed, the Dark Lord of the Sith did not even break a sweat.

I felt something building in Sith Tarimra, and then also in the Dark Lord, both giving me a sense of true impending danger. Within mere moments, I saw a great, red sphere barrelling towards me as Darth Quorran stepped out of the way; it took all I had to create a Bubble before it hit, and I barely made it out with all my limbs intact, though I did so. Before even having a chance to regain my footing or composure, the Dark Lord of the Sith unleashed some form of mind power, one which created a burning through my mind, destroying the defences I had in place. It was at this point that she called us both towards her, ending the duel there and then.

Her notes to us both were wildly different: To Sith Tarimra, she stated that he must be more creative in the use of the Force. To myself, I must be more focused and refined if I wish to learn of further Niman; indeed, the difference between the mindset of Shii-Cho and the one required to learn of further Niman is vastly different, and that which she saw was indeed the former. However, the main note made was that we did not work together: This, however, is due to Sith Tarimra electing to attack me, rather than team up to attempt to truly succeed in this combat. Regardless, her points of improvement have been noted.

Darth Quorran is an impressive fighter, who need not even lift her blade to see others thrown by the wayside, should she so desire it. As a master of Form VI: Niman, such is to be expected, the adaptability and ingrained Force use is instrumental to the form. While Shii-Cho is heated, erratic, and impulsive, those with the ability to predict the movements of others in a battle will never fall victim to the unpredictable nature, instead subverting and redirecting it as they see fit.

Ongoing Crisis
The Republic Marches amongst lit fires!

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

After the Republic liberated Pollus from Imperial influence, Anx Minor was devastated by I.T.E.C.’s nuclear mining and lingering Sith presence, while the Kesmere Ridge remained largely intact, enabling the Republic to steadily infiltrate and influence its powerful corporate systems. On Tertiary Kesmere—the largest hub—three megacorporations dominated: Oriyn Prospecting discovered resources, Kessdyne Resource Group extracted and profited from the capital Vethar’s Reach and its Ciivic Council, and Haeltor Maritime handled off-world transport. Beneath the façade of economic growth, however, The Republic secretly aimed to turn Tertiary Kesmere into a strategic launch point for operations in the Northern Territories. Contacted by Moff Vayen Korr, the Marshalling Prefect of the Northern Territories, the Pentarchy of House Horuset took on the job of delaying the Republic's actions. With preperations laid it culminated in a strike planetside lasting only two weeks to ignite anarchy. Acting covertly to sabotage Republic progress, they destabilized the region, leaving chaos in their wake as corporations collapsed under their own deception and local anti-corporate guilds rose up—unaware of the Empire’s hidden hand behind the unrest...

((OOC: Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state will determine how strong the Republic will be in given areas area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
