The Death of an Acolyte

#1
The Death of an Acolyte

For four weeks the newly arrived acolyte, a human cyborg by the name of Marlios, had done little else than to train, study, meditate and sleep. His body was still sore from yesterday's sword practice, every muscle in his 25-year old body aching as if on fire. Yet, he had never felt stronger, neither physically or in the Force; the result of the intensive training schedule.
He sat in solitude in the library, working on a report of the Qotsisajak, and specifically the reason for why it was written. A complex question that had been filling Marlios' thoughts for the previous few days, but now he felt like he was finally getting somewhere. The report was almost complete when Acolyte Marlios' realized he had been sitting in the library for far longer than he had intended. A slight sense of dismay struck him when he realized he was late for today's Force Barrier lesson. Getting on his feet, he swiftly put away his datapad and hurried across the metallic hallways of the Th'Asidra. As he entered the through the door to the training room, he suddenly had a feeling that this would not end well.
In the room were not only his fellow acolytes and the apprentice holding the lesson, but also several Sith Lords of House Horuset, as well as a visiting Lord that Marlios did not know. And all their gazes were set upon him, the late comer.
He approached the crowd with nervous steps, an ever growing feeling inside him that something bad would happen.

For four weeks the newly arrived acolyte, the human cyborg by the name of Marlios, had done little else than to train, study, meditate and sleep. Now his body lied motionless on the floor with its limbs spread into strange, unnatural positions, as if it were a puppet that had lost its owner's interest and simply had been dropped to the floor. Acolyte Marlios was no more.

Ongoing Crisis
The Republic Marches amongst lit fires!

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

After the Republic liberated Pollus from Imperial influence, Anx Minor was devastated by I.T.E.C.’s nuclear mining and lingering Sith presence, while the Kesmere Ridge remained largely intact, enabling the Republic to steadily infiltrate and influence its powerful corporate systems. On Tertiary Kesmere—the largest hub—three megacorporations dominated: Oriyn Prospecting discovered resources, Kessdyne Resource Group extracted and profited from the capital Vethar’s Reach and its Ciivic Council, and Haeltor Maritime handled off-world transport. Beneath the façade of economic growth, however, The Republic secretly aimed to turn Tertiary Kesmere into a strategic launch point for operations in the Northern Territories. Contacted by Moff Vayen Korr, the Marshalling Prefect of the Northern Territories, the Pentarchy of House Horuset took on the job of delaying the Republic's actions. With preperations laid it culminated in a strike planetside lasting only two weeks to ignite anarchy. Acting covertly to sabotage Republic progress, they destabilized the region, leaving chaos in their wake as corporations collapsed under their own deception and local anti-corporate guilds rose up—unaware of the Empire’s hidden hand behind the unrest...

((OOC: Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state will determine how strong the Republic will be in given areas area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
