Mission Report: Seafloor Ruins, by Apprentice Syndathik

#1
MISSION PARTICIPANTS:

Apprentice Zotam
Apprentice Viasma
Apprentice Vipion
Apprentice Syndathik

OBJECTIVES:

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:

Scout the seafloor ruins and document its layout and specifications - [successful]

Find an unflooded entrance so that the ruins can be explored at a later date - [successful]

SECONDARY OBJECTIVE:

Name the site - [successful]

MISSION REPORT:

For assigned stations on this mission we had Apprentice Syndathik piloting, Apprentice Viasma on comms and sensors, Apprentice Vipion on the geological surveyor, and Apprentice Zotam as a floating crewmember.

We descended to the ocean floor as planned, sensors picking up nothing but nominal aquatic life at a distance, and began to head for the ruins, but after not long we were hailed by another submarine that came into sensor range. After a short discussion between their captain and Apprentice Viasma to the tune of 'let us use your equipment or else' and 'no', they went to board us, placing some sort of docking device on top of our submarine to allow them to enter as they would on the surface.

Apprentice Zotam had Apprentice Syndathik stay in the cockpit and kill the lights while he led point on the rest going to head off the pirates. The pirates tried to begin their assault with a flashbang and smoke grenade, and Apprentice Vipion shut the doors to the entrance compartment to counter this. Apprentice Zotam blinded them with flash before the doors opened again, and dismembered and captured their leader, first bringing him to the cockpit to call his crew off so we weren't shot on our escape, then stuffing him into a crate at the back of the sub for safe storage, while Apprentices Viasma and Vipion dealt with the other five.

Concurrently a dark sided presence had begun to approach us, later revealing itself to be a massive leviathan of some sorts. The sensors could not identify it as anything, and it was perhaps quadruple the size of our sub at least. Apprentice Zotam suggested searching for a remote sealing control for the entrance hatch and after finding and using it Apprentice Syndathik opted to break the sub free of the docking device the manual way. The pirates's sub was soon eaten. By the time they vanished from our sensors we were already some distance away with lights still out, and the leviathan did not follow us in, but did remain close to the point we had left for the remainder of the duration of it being in range.

We took a slow trawl past the ruins, Apprentice Zotam ensuring the geological surveyor was set to the highest detail scans for it, and had time to gather the data we needed. We were nudged by some sharks, but no more genuine threats appeared. Once we had the scans, we took another route away from the ruins and did not turn the lighting back on until we were far from the leviathan, allowing us an uneventful journey back to the surface.

The ruins themselves were named by Apprentice Vipion, dubbed "The Isle of Fire Ruins."

[Should you have access, for more detail on the captive, see record 00004 of the Household Incarceration records as recorded by Apprentice Zotam.]

Ongoing Crisis
The Republic Marches amongst lit fires!

The Balance of Power in the Northern Territories!

After the Republic liberated Pollus from Imperial influence, Anx Minor was devastated by I.T.E.C.’s nuclear mining and lingering Sith presence, while the Kesmere Ridge remained largely intact, enabling the Republic to steadily infiltrate and influence its powerful corporate systems. On Tertiary Kesmere—the largest hub—three megacorporations dominated: Oriyn Prospecting discovered resources, Kessdyne Resource Group extracted and profited from the capital Vethar’s Reach and its Ciivic Council, and Haeltor Maritime handled off-world transport. Beneath the façade of economic growth, however, The Republic secretly aimed to turn Tertiary Kesmere into a strategic launch point for operations in the Northern Territories. Contacted by Moff Vayen Korr, the Marshalling Prefect of the Northern Territories, the Pentarchy of House Horuset took on the job of delaying the Republic's actions. With preperations laid it culminated in a strike planetside lasting only two weeks to ignite anarchy. Acting covertly to sabotage Republic progress, they destabilized the region, leaving chaos in their wake as corporations collapsed under their own deception and local anti-corporate guilds rose up—unaware of the Empire’s hidden hand behind the unrest...

((OOC: Missions that relate to grand changes in the Northern Territories will have an impact on the balance of power shown above, with the end result being that the balance of power's state will determine how strong the Republic will be in given areas area. The balance of power can be pushing in our favour with bigger scale events aimed at taking the Republic down or fortifying ourselves in the North. This can be achieved through Operations, Adventures and Guild Events. The blue represents the Republic, and the Empire is red! This is organised by the Guild Team, so please direct OOC questions to them.))
